How the SheetLabels SL129 sheet is laid out

A SheetLabels SL129 sheet is one 5 1/2″ round label with 2 3/4″ of backing at the top and 1 1/2″ at the side.

Labels cover 25 % of the page; the rest is backing.

No other sheet in LabelGrid's data (the gLabels database plus checked additions) has exactly the SheetLabels SL129 layout, so avoid "close enough" templates.

Designing for 5 1/2″ round SL129 labels

The largest square inside a 5 1/2″ circle is 3.889″ (98.8 mm); keep centred text inside it, because box corners outside it are cut by the round die line. At 10 pt that holds about 21 lines of 52 characters.

How much text fits on a SheetLabels SL129 label

At 10 pt a SL129 label holds about 21 lines of 52 characters: room for a full shipping block, a packing list or a page of notes, so larger type (14 pt gives 15 lines) is usually the better choice. Helvetica estimates with a 1/8″ inner margin (inscribed square); the tool shrinks text that does not fit.

  2. Print at 100 % / Actual size; "Fit to page" shrinks about 3 % and moves the bottom edge of the SL129 label by roughly 6.3 mm.

  3. Test on plain paper, hold it against a SL129 sheet to the light and enter any offset in mm in the tool.

Where the SheetLabels SL129 numbers come from
