The best sheet for Halloween return address labels
Small seasonal return-address labels for the back flap or top-left corner of October envelopes, printed many to a sheet. Avery 5167 puts 80 labels on one US Letter sheet in 4 columns and 20 rows, which is why it is the default for Halloween return address labels here.
Each label is 1 3/4″ (44.4 mm) wide and 1/2″ (12.7 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 0.3″ (7.6 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the preset, “Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591”, has 23 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 2 lines of 23 characters, at 8 pt about 2 lines of 29.
Compared with 5167: Avery 8195 has 1.3× the label area and 60 instead of 80 labels per sheet and Avery 5160 has 3× the label area and 30 instead of 80 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your envelopes need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.
Recommended sheets for Halloween return address labels
| Sheet | Label size | Per sheet | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avery 5167 | 1/2″ × 1 3/4″ | 80 | 1/2″ × 1 3/4″, 80 per sheet: the classic return-address size, room for name and two address lines at 6-7 pt. |
| Avery 8195 | 0.66″ × 1 3/4″ | 60 | 0.66″ × 1 3/4″, 60 per sheet: a little taller, so three lines print at a more comfortable 7-8 pt. |
| Avery 5160 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ | 30 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ if you want a pumpkin-coloured frame and a larger, easier-to-read return address. |

Design ideas for Halloween return address labels
Settings to try in the designer above (style, accent colour and font); every idea prints on Avery 5167 and the other sheets listed here.
-
Orange band (preset)
Band style along the edge with a left-aligned three-line address; the band adds colour without shrinking the text.
-
Tiny frame
A thin orange frame around centred text works on 80-up labels if you keep lines under about 28 characters.
-
Black and white
Plain style in black for envelopes that already carry a Halloween design; the label stays neutral.
Tips for printing Halloween return address labels
- On a 1/2″ tall label, three lines only fit at about 6-7 pt: keep the name short and drop the country line for domestic mail.
- Because one 80-up sheet covers a card list of up to 80 names, you can print October and December designs on separate sheets and keep the spares.
- A coloured band on the left edge is enough seasonal flavour; full-colour backgrounds on tiny labels make the address hard to read.
- Return addresses do not have to be on the front: many people put them on the back flap, where a decorative label is more welcome.
Print plan: Halloween return address labels for 25 to 150 envelopes
For 100 envelopes you need 2 sheets of 5167, with 60 labels left for next time; add 4 sheets of 5160 for the Halloween address labels (30 per sheet). None of these runs fills whole 5167 sheets; 80, 160 or 240 labels would. The plain-paper test costs no label sheet, so print it first.
| Envelopes | 5167 sheets (80/sheet) | Labels left over | Or 8195 sheets (60/sheet) | + 5160 sheets (address labels) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 envelopes | 1 | 55 | 1 | 1 (2 sheets in all) |
| 50 envelopes | 1 | 30 | 1 | 2 (3 sheets in all) |
| 100 envelopes | 2 | 60 | 2 | 4 (6 sheets in all) |
| 150 envelopes | 2 | 10 | 3 | 5 (7 sheets in all) |
When to print Halloween return address labels
Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026, 7 days after this page's data date (October 24, 2026). Labels print in minutes, so the timing that matters is when your envelopes have to be ready or in the mail. With 7 days to go, printing a 5167 sheet at home is the quickest route: there is no order to wait for.
If you mail envelopes, check your postal service's own published holiday mailing dates; they change every year and LabelGrid does not guess them. Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions
What size are Halloween return address labels?
LabelGrid's default for Halloween return address labels is 1/2″ × 1 3/4″ (Avery 5167, 80 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 8195 at 0.66″ × 1 3/4″ and Avery 5160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″.
How many Halloween return address labels fit on one sheet?
80 on Avery 5167, 60 on Avery 8195 and 30 on Avery 5160. For 160 envelopes at 1 label each you need 2 sheets of Avery 5167.
Can every label on the sheet be different?
Yes. The preset repeats one design on every label, which suits Halloween return address labels. For different text on each label, switch to merge mode and paste one row per label; the free version prints one full sheet per list.
When is Halloween?
The next Halloween after this page's data date (October 24, 2026) is Saturday, October 31, 2026. Print a test sheet a few days before you need the envelopes, and check your postal service for mailing dates if you send them.
Why do my Halloween return address labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
