The best sheet for Halloween address labels
Spooky-season address labels for party invitations, Halloween cards and October mail: one orange-and-black design repeated across a standard 30-up address sheet. Avery 5160 puts 30 labels on one US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 10 rows, which is why it is the default for Halloween address labels here.
Each label is 2 5/8″ (66.7 mm) wide and 1″ (25.4 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 3/16″ (4.8 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the preset, “Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591”, has 23 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 5 lines of 36 characters, at 8 pt about 6 lines of 45.
Compared with 5160: Avery 8160 has the same label area and the same count per sheet, Avery 5161 has 1.5× the label area and 20 instead of 30 labels per sheet and Avery 5163 has 3× the label area and 10 instead of 30 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your envelopes need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.
Recommended sheets for Halloween address labels
| Sheet | Label size | Per sheet | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avery 5160 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ | 30 | The standard 1″ × 2 5/8″ address size: three lines of address fit at 10-11 pt with room for a thin orange frame. |
| Avery 8160 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ | 30 | Same 30-up geometry as 5160 for inkjet printers, so the same PDF lines up on both. |
| Avery 5161 | 1″ × 4″ | 20 | Wider 1″ × 4″ labels leave space for a short line such as “Happy Halloween” next to the address. |
| Avery 5163 | 2″ × 4″ | 10 | 2″ × 4″ labels suit large padded envelopes and party-invitation boxes where a bigger label reads better. |

Design ideas for Halloween address labels
Settings to try in the designer above (style, accent colour and font); every idea prints on Avery 5160 and the other sheets listed here.
-
Pumpkin frame (preset)
Frame style with an orange accent, black Helvetica text centred: festive, and the address stays crisp for sorting machines.
-
Midnight band
Band style with a deep purple accent and left-aligned text; the band reads like a ribbon on white or kraft envelopes.
-
Spooky serif
Times with the corners style in orange gives an old-poster look; keep the first line bold so the family name stands out.
Tips for printing Halloween address labels
- Keep the address text black and put the orange in the frame only: dark text on a white label is the easiest to read for people and for mail-sorting equipment.
- If your envelopes are dark (black or deep purple), white address labels stay readable where handwriting in silver pen would not.
- Print one plain-paper test sheet first, hold it against the label sheet in front of a window and check that the frame sits inside each label.
- For party invitations, count back from the day the envelopes have to be in the mail, not from Halloween itself, and print the labels before that day.
- Use the merge mode when every envelope gets a different guest address: paste the list from your spreadsheet and the tool fills one label per row.
Print plan: Halloween address labels for 25 to 150 envelopes
For 100 envelopes you need 4 sheets of 5160, with 20 labels left for next time; add 2 sheets of 5167 for the Halloween return address labels (80 per sheet). 150 envelopes fill whole 5160 sheets exactly. The plain-paper test costs no label sheet, so print it first.
| Envelopes | 5160 sheets (30/sheet) | Labels left over | Or 5161 sheets (20/sheet) | + 5167 sheets (return address labels) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 envelopes | 1 | 5 | 2 | 1 (2 sheets in all) |
| 50 envelopes | 2 | 10 | 3 | 1 (3 sheets in all) |
| 100 envelopes | 4 | 20 | 5 | 2 (6 sheets in all) |
| 150 envelopes | 5 | 0 | 8 | 2 (7 sheets in all) |
Will Halloween address labels fit your envelopes?
A 1″ × 2 5/8″ label is 2 5/8″ long: centred on an A7 envelope (5 × 7 in cards) it covers 36 % of the 7 1/4″ width, and on the smallest size listed, A2 (5 3/4″ wide), 46 %. The 1″ × 4″ option from Avery 5161 is shown for comparison. Envelope sizes are the standard US dimensions, width × height as addressed.
| Envelope | Size | Holds | 5160 label (1″ × 2 5/8″) | 5161 label (1″ × 4″) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A2 | 5 3/4″ × 4 3/8″ | 4 1/4 × 5 1/2 in cards | 46 % of the width · 1 9/16″ each side | 70 % of the width · 7/8″ each side |
| A6 | 6 1/2″ × 4 3/4″ | 4 1/2 × 6 1/4 in cards | 40 % of the width · 1 15/16″ each side | 62 % of the width · 1 1/4″ each side |
| A7 | 7 1/4″ × 5 1/4″ | 5 × 7 in cards | 36 % of the width · 2 5/16″ each side | 55 % of the width · 1 5/8″ each side |
| A9 | 8 3/4″ × 5 3/4″ | 5 1/2 × 8 1/2 in cards | 30 % of the width · 3 1/16″ each side | 46 % of the width · 2 3/8″ each side |
| No. 10 | 9 1/2″ × 4 1/8″ | letters folded in thirds | 28 % of the width · 3 7/16″ each side | 42 % of the width · 2 3/4″ each side |
When to print Halloween address labels
Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026, 7 days after this page's data date (October 24, 2026). Labels print in minutes, so the timing that matters is when your envelopes have to be ready or in the mail. With 7 days to go, printing a 5160 sheet at home is the quickest route: there is no order to wait for.
If you mail envelopes, check your postal service's own published holiday mailing dates; they change every year and LabelGrid does not guess them. Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print the Avery® 5160 Halloween label template?
Edit the pre-filled framed design in the designer at the top of this page, download the PDF and print it at 100 % scale on US Letter Avery® 5160 or 8160 sheets. Print one plain-paper test first and hold it against a label sheet.
What size are Halloween address labels?
LabelGrid's default for Halloween address labels is 1″ × 2 5/8″ (Avery 5160, 30 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 8160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″ (same size, different code), Avery 5161 at 1″ × 4″ and Avery 5163 at 2″ × 4″.
How many Halloween address labels fit on one sheet?
30 on Avery 5160, 30 on Avery 8160, 20 on Avery 5161 and 10 on Avery 5163. For 120 envelopes at 1 label each you need 4 sheets of Avery 5160.
Can every label on the sheet be different?
Yes. The preset repeats one design on every label, which suits Halloween address labels. For different text on each label, switch to merge mode and paste one row per label; the free version prints one full sheet per list.
When is Halloween?
The next Halloween after this page's data date (October 24, 2026) is Saturday, October 31, 2026. Print a test sheet a few days before you need the envelopes, and check your postal service for mailing dates if you send them.
Why do my Halloween address labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
