The best sheet for inventory labels
Labels for stock bins, shelves and boxes: item, SKU, location and reorder level. Avery 5163 puts 10 labels on one US Letter sheet in 2 columns and 5 rows, which is why it is the default for inventory labels here.
Each label is 4″ (101.6 mm) wide and 2″ (50.8 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 0.162″ (4.1 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the first sample row, “SKU B-0601 · Bin A1”, has 19 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 10 lines of 54 characters, at 8 pt about 13 lines of 67.
Compared with 5163: Avery 5160 has 33 % of the label area and 30 instead of 10 labels per sheet and Avery 5164 has 1.7× the label area and 6 instead of 10 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your bins need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.

Tips for printing inventory labels
- Export your inventory sheet with item, SKU and location columns and merge it straight onto labels.
- Location codes (aisle-shelf-bin) on labels make picking faster than item names alone.
- Barcodes for each SKU (Pro) let you scan stock counts with a phone.
- Warehouse environments are dusty; laminate or use synthetic label stock for long-lived bin labels.
How many sheets for your bins
One label per bin. For 100 bins on Avery 5163 you need 10 sheets, with no label left over.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 bins | 30 | 3 sheets | 1 sheet | 5 sheets |

Frequently asked questions
What size are inventory labels?
LabelGrid's default for inventory labels is 2″ × 4″ (Avery 5163, 10 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 5160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″ and Avery 5164 at 3 1/3″ × 4″.
How many inventory labels fit on one sheet?
10 on Avery 5163, 30 on Avery 5160 and 6 on Avery 5164. For 300 bins at 1 label each you need 30 sheets of Avery 5163.
Can I print inventory labels from a spreadsheet list?
Yes. Switch the designer to merge mode, paste your rows with a header (Item, SKU and Bin) and each row becomes one label; placeholders like {Item} pull the values in. The free version prints one full sheet per list.
Why do my inventory labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
