The best sheet for Christmas address labels
Festive address labels for Christmas cards and parcels: red and green on a standard 30-up address sheet, one label per name from your card list. Avery 5160 puts 30 labels on one US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 10 rows, which is why it is the default for Christmas address labels here.
Each label is 2 5/8″ (66.7 mm) wide and 1″ (25.4 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 3/16″ (4.8 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the preset, “Evergreen, CO 80439”, has 19 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 5 lines of 36 characters, at 8 pt about 6 lines of 45.
Compared with 5160: Avery 8160 has the same label area and the same count per sheet, Avery 5161 has 1.5× the label area and 20 instead of 30 labels per sheet, Avery 5162 has 2× the label area and 14 instead of 30 labels per sheet and Avery 5163 has 3× the label area and 10 instead of 30 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your Christmas cards need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.

Tips for printing Christmas address labels
- Keep your card list in a spreadsheet with one column per line (Name, Street, City-State-ZIP); paste it into merge mode and every label is filled in order.
- Print the addresses in black and put the colour in the band or frame: red text next to a green border looks festive but has little contrast, and dark text on a light label is the easiest to read.
- A 30-up sheet maps neatly to a card list: 30, 60 or 90 cards fill one, two or three sheets exactly, with no orphan labels.
- Check your post office's published holiday mailing dates for parcels and international cards; LabelGrid does not publish deadlines because they change every year.
- If you send cards abroad, use a 1 1/3″ × 4″ label: the extra line holds the country name in capitals on its own line.
- Print one sheet on plain paper first and lay it over the label sheet against a window: if the band drifts, use the printer offset to nudge it.
Print plan: Christmas address labels for 25 to 150 Christmas cards
For 100 Christmas cards you need 4 sheets of 5160, with 20 labels left for next time; add 2 sheets of 8195 for the Christmas return address labels (60 per sheet). 150 Christmas cards fill whole 5160 sheets exactly. The plain-paper test costs no label sheet, so print it first.
| Christmas cards | 5160 sheets (30/sheet) | Labels left over | Or 5161 sheets (20/sheet) | + 8195 sheets (return address labels) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 Christmas cards | 1 | 5 | 2 | 1 (2 sheets in all) |
| 50 Christmas cards | 2 | 10 | 3 | 1 (3 sheets in all) |
| 100 Christmas cards | 4 | 20 | 5 | 2 (6 sheets in all) |
| 150 Christmas cards | 5 | 0 | 8 | 3 (8 sheets in all) |
Will Christmas address labels fit your envelopes?
A 1″ × 2 5/8″ label is 2 5/8″ long: centred on an A7 envelope (5 × 7 in cards) it covers 36 % of the 7 1/4″ width, and on the smallest size listed, A2 (5 3/4″ wide), 46 %. The 1″ × 4″ option from Avery 5161 is shown for comparison. Envelope sizes are the standard US dimensions, width × height as addressed.
| Envelope | Size | Holds | 5160 label (1″ × 2 5/8″) | 5161 label (1″ × 4″) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A2 | 5 3/4″ × 4 3/8″ | 4 1/4 × 5 1/2 in cards | 46 % of the width · 1 9/16″ each side | 70 % of the width · 7/8″ each side |
| A6 | 6 1/2″ × 4 3/4″ | 4 1/2 × 6 1/4 in cards | 40 % of the width · 1 15/16″ each side | 62 % of the width · 1 1/4″ each side |
| A7 | 7 1/4″ × 5 1/4″ | 5 × 7 in cards | 36 % of the width · 2 5/16″ each side | 55 % of the width · 1 5/8″ each side |
| A9 | 8 3/4″ × 5 3/4″ | 5 1/2 × 8 1/2 in cards | 30 % of the width · 3 1/16″ each side | 46 % of the width · 2 3/8″ each side |
| No. 10 | 9 1/2″ × 4 1/8″ | letters folded in thirds | 28 % of the width · 3 7/16″ each side | 42 % of the width · 2 3/4″ each side |
When to print Christmas address labels
Christmas falls on Friday, December 25, 2026, 62 days after this page's data date (October 24, 2026). Labels print in minutes, so the timing that matters is when your Christmas cards have to be ready or in the mail.
If you mail Christmas cards, check your postal service's own published holiday mailing dates; they change every year and LabelGrid does not guess them. Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print Avery® 5160 Christmas address labels?
Edit the pre-filled colour-band design in the designer at the top of this page, download the PDF and print it at 100 % scale on US Letter Avery® 5160 or 8160 sheets. Print one plain-paper test first and hold it against a label sheet.
What size are Christmas address labels?
LabelGrid's default for Christmas address labels is 1″ × 2 5/8″ (Avery 5160, 30 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 8160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″ (same size, different code), Avery 5161 at 1″ × 4″, Avery 5162 at 1 1/3″ × 4″ and Avery 5163 at 2″ × 4″.
How many Christmas address labels fit on one sheet?
30 on Avery 5160, 30 on Avery 8160, 20 on Avery 5161, 14 on Avery 5162 and 10 on Avery 5163. For 150 Christmas cards at 1 label each you need 5 sheets of Avery 5160.
Can every label on the sheet be different?
Yes. The preset repeats one design on every label, which suits Christmas address labels. For different text on each label, switch to merge mode and paste one row per label; the free version prints one full sheet per list.
When is Christmas?
The next Christmas after this page's data date (October 24, 2026) is Friday, December 25, 2026. Print a test sheet a few days before you need the Christmas cards, and check your postal service for mailing dates if you send them.
Why do my Christmas address labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
