The best sheet for Christmas card address labels
One label per recipient for a Christmas card list: paste names and addresses once, print them on a 30-up sheet and skip hand-addressing dozens of envelopes. Avery 5160 puts 30 labels on one US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 10 rows, which is why it is the default for Christmas card address labels here.
Each label is 2 5/8″ (66.7 mm) wide and 1″ (25.4 mm) tall, with a 1/2″ (12.7 mm) top margin and a 3/16″ (4.8 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the first sample row, “Evergreen, CO 80439”, has 19 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 5 lines of 36 characters, at 8 pt about 6 lines of 45.
Compared with 5160: Avery 8160 has the same label area and the same count per sheet, OnlineLabels OL875 has the same label area and the same count per sheet and Avery 5162 has 2× the label area and 14 instead of 30 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your cards need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.
Recommended sheets for Christmas card address labels
| Sheet | Label size | Per sheet | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Avery 5160 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ | 30 | 30 per sheet at 1″ × 2 5/8″ for a three-line US address; the envelope table on this page shows how much of an A2, A7 or A9 envelope it covers. |
| Avery 8160 | 1″ × 2 5/8″ | 30 | The same layout sold for inkjet printers, so one PDF prints on either sheet. |
| OnlineLabels OL875 | 1″ × 2.594″ | 30 | OnlineLabels’ 30-up address sheet; its labels are 2.594″ wide, a hair narrower than 5160, so print it with its own template. |
| Avery 5162 | 1 1/3″ × 4″ | 14 | 14 per sheet at 1 1/3″ × 4″ for long names (“Dr. and Mrs. …”) or four-line addresses. |

Tips for printing Christmas card address labels
- Export last year's list from your spreadsheet as a comma-separated or tab-separated file, or copy the cells directly; merge mode recognises the header row and turns each column into a {placeholder}.
- Sort the list by last name before printing so you can tick off cards as you stuff envelopes.
- If a few labels on the first sheet are already used, set the start position to the first empty label instead of wasting a sheet.
- If label sheets curl or jam, try the rear or manual feed slot if your printer has one, and look in the printer settings for a label or heavy-paper type.
- Save the list for next year: the spreadsheet is the real work, the labels take a minute.
Print plan: Christmas card address labels for 25 to 150 cards
For 100 cards you need 4 sheets of 5160, with 20 labels left for next time; add 2 sheets of 8195 for the Christmas return address labels (60 per sheet). 150 cards fill whole 5160 sheets exactly. The plain-paper test costs no label sheet, so print it first.
| Cards | 5160 sheets (30/sheet) | Labels left over | Or 5162 sheets (14/sheet) | + 8195 sheets (return address labels) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 cards | 1 | 5 | 2 | 1 (2 sheets in all) |
| 50 cards | 2 | 10 | 4 | 1 (3 sheets in all) |
| 100 cards | 4 | 20 | 8 | 2 (6 sheets in all) |
| 150 cards | 5 | 0 | 11 | 3 (8 sheets in all) |
Will Christmas card address labels fit your envelopes?
A 1″ × 2 5/8″ label is 2 5/8″ long: centred on an A7 envelope (5 × 7 in cards) it covers 36 % of the 7 1/4″ width, and on the smallest size listed, A2 (5 3/4″ wide), 46 %. The 1 1/3″ × 4″ option from Avery 5162 is shown for comparison. Envelope sizes are the standard US dimensions, width × height as addressed.
| Envelope | Size | Holds | 5160 label (1″ × 2 5/8″) | 5162 label (1 1/3″ × 4″) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A2 | 5 3/4″ × 4 3/8″ | 4 1/4 × 5 1/2 in cards | 46 % of the width · 1 9/16″ each side | 70 % of the width · 7/8″ each side |
| A6 | 6 1/2″ × 4 3/4″ | 4 1/2 × 6 1/4 in cards | 40 % of the width · 1 15/16″ each side | 62 % of the width · 1 1/4″ each side |
| A7 | 7 1/4″ × 5 1/4″ | 5 × 7 in cards | 36 % of the width · 2 5/16″ each side | 55 % of the width · 1 5/8″ each side |
| A9 | 8 3/4″ × 5 3/4″ | 5 1/2 × 8 1/2 in cards | 30 % of the width · 3 1/16″ each side | 46 % of the width · 2 3/8″ each side |
| No. 10 | 9 1/2″ × 4 1/8″ | letters folded in thirds | 28 % of the width · 3 7/16″ each side | 42 % of the width · 2 3/4″ each side |
When to print Christmas card address labels
Christmas falls on Friday, December 25, 2026, 62 days after this page's data date (October 24, 2026). Labels print in minutes, so the timing that matters is when your cards have to be ready or in the mail.
If you mail cards, check your postal service's own published holiday mailing dates; they change every year and LabelGrid does not guess them. Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print Christmas card address labels from my list?
Edit the pre-filled framed design in the designer at the top of this page or paste your list in merge mode, download the PDF and print it at 100 % scale on US Letter Avery® 5160 or 8160 sheets. Print one plain-paper test first and hold it against a label sheet.
What size are Christmas card address labels?
LabelGrid's default for Christmas card address labels is 1″ × 2 5/8″ (Avery 5160, 30 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 8160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″ (same size, different code), OnlineLabels OL875 at 1″ × 2.594″ and Avery 5162 at 1 1/3″ × 4″.
How many Christmas card address labels fit on one sheet?
30 on Avery 5160, 30 on Avery 8160, 30 on OnlineLabels OL875 and 14 on Avery 5162. For 150 cards at 1 label each you need 5 sheets of Avery 5160.
Can I print Christmas card address labels from a spreadsheet list?
Yes. Switch the designer to merge mode, paste your rows with a header (Name, Street, City, State and ZIP) and each row becomes one label; placeholders like {Name} pull the values in. The free version prints one full sheet per list.
When is Christmas?
The next Christmas after this page's data date (October 24, 2026) is Friday, December 25, 2026. Print a test sheet a few days before you need the cards, and check your postal service for mailing dates if you send them.
Why do my Christmas card address labels print out of line?
Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
