What 20 labels per US Letter sheet means
A count of 20 per sheet does not fix the label size: the 23 sheets here use 10 sizes and 4 grids (4 × 5, 2 × 10, 1 × 20 and 5 × 4). Labels cover between 33 % and 86 % of the US Letter page; the rest is margin and gaps.
Always choose the template by the code printed on the box: two 20-up sheets with different sizes or margins need different templates, even though the count matches. The most common size at this count is 1″ × 4″ (10 sheets).

|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 3 | 3 | 10 |
| 100 | 5 | 6 | 0 |

| 1000 | 50 | 51 | 0 |
Which 20-up sheet to pick
Avery 5161 is the default here because Avery codes are the usual reference for compatible sheets, and it shares its exact layout with 8 other sheets on this list, so its template prints on those too. Its labels are 4″ (101.6 mm) by 1″ (25.4 mm).
1″ × 4″ is already the largest size at this count; the smallest are 1/2″ × 3.13″ on Avery LSK-3.5. LabelGrid recommends 20-up sheets for Halloween address labels, Christmas address labels, holiday address labels, wedding invitation address labels and address labels.
