The best sheet for Easter labels

Pastel labels for Easter baskets, egg-hunt bags, treat boxes and family brunch invitations. Avery 5294 puts 12 labels on one US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 4 rows, which is why it is the default for Easter labels here.

Each label is 2 1/2″ (63.5 mm) wide and 2 1/2″ (63.5 mm) tall (round), with a 7/16″ (11.1 mm) top margin and a 1/4″ (6.4 mm) side margin on the sheet. The longest line of the preset, “Hoppy Easter”, has 12 characters; at 10 pt one label holds about 9 lines of 23 characters, at 8 pt about 12 lines of 29.

Compared with 5294: Avery 5293 has 42 % of the label area and 24 instead of 12 labels per sheet, Avery 5163 has 1.3× the label area and 10 instead of 12 labels per sheet and Avery 5160 has 42 % of the label area and 30 instead of 12 labels per sheet. Pick the larger labels when your baskets and bags need bigger type, the smaller ones when you print many.

Design ideas for Easter labels

Settings to try in the designer above (style, accent colour and font); every idea prints on Avery 5294 and the other sheets listed here.

  • Lilac corners (preset)

Corners style in purple with centred text: soft, but the child’s name stays easy to read.

  • Spring dots

Dots style in green around basket names on 2 1/2″ rounds.

  • Egg-hunt teams

Band style with one accent colour per team; print one sheet per team colour.

Tips for printing Easter labels

  • For an egg hunt with teams, print one colour accent per team and use the labels to mark bags.
  • Pastel accents print light; keep the text dark so a five-year-old can read their own name.
  • Plastic eggs are curved: a 1 5/8″ round label grips better than a rectangle.
  • Basket name tags on 2″ × 4″ labels can stick to a ribbon folded back on itself.

When to print Easter labels

Easter falls on Sunday, March 28, 2027, 155 days after this page's data date (October 24, 2026). Labels print in minutes, so the timing that matters is when your baskets and bags have to be ready.

Print one test sheet on plain paper first: it shows scaling or alignment problems before they cost a label sheet.

Frequently asked questions

What size are Easter labels?

LabelGrid's default for Easter labels is 2 1/2″ round (Avery 5294, 12 per sheet). Other sheets that fit: Avery 5293 at 1 5/8″ round, Avery 5163 at 2″ × 4″ and Avery 5160 at 1″ × 2 5/8″.

How many Easter labels fit on one sheet?

12 on Avery 5294, 24 on Avery 5293, 10 on Avery 5163 and 30 on Avery 5160. For 40 baskets and bags at 1 label each you need 4 sheets of Avery 5294.

Can every label on the sheet be different?

Yes. The preset repeats one design on every label, which suits Easter labels. For different text on each label, switch to merge mode and paste one row per label; the free version prints one full sheet per list.

When is Easter?

The next Easter after this page's data date (October 24, 2026) is Sunday, March 28, 2027. Print a test sheet a few days before you need the baskets and bags, and check your postal service for mailing dates if you send them.

Why do my Easter labels print out of line?

Check the print dialog first: “fit to page” or any scale other than 100 % shrinks the sheet, and the labels drift. Choose “Actual size” or 100 % scale, the right paper (US Letter) and no “fit to page”. If every label is off by the same amount, use the printer offset in the designer to nudge the whole sheet.
